Pioneer Bios

Henry Washington Legg. He was born July 29, 1855 in Crawford County, IL and died January 22, 1929, probably in Sumner. He was married on November 1, 1876 to Emily Jane Petty, also of the
area. She was born August 18, 1858 and died February 4th 1935. They were farmers in the Sumner area, and had a family of 12.

Of the women, on the left is my grandmother, Vira Agnes Legg. The woman in the middle is not identified, I would love to know her name. The woman on the right is Carrie Alice Legg.

Of the men, on the left is Lee Brookhart, later to become Carrie's husband. In the middle is my grandfather, John B. McQuiston. The man on the right is
not identified.

My maternal grandparents, Vira Agnes Legg and John B
McQuiston, taken shortly after their marriage on February 23, 1909 in Sumner. The name of the photographer stamped on the folder is Howell.
